A CALM SUNNY DAY: SOMEWHERE FAR OUT AT SEA

BACKGROUND MUSIC plays serenely as a 45 foot Gray Whale glides into view, swimming slowly along on the water's surface. By her side, her 15 foot suckling calf lovingly keeps pace.Suddenly, the music stops as a loud BOOM is heard (its source unseen). A CLOSEUP camera shot simultaneously depicts an explosive-tipped harpoon thudding deep into the mother whale's side, showering her and her calf in a halo of blood.The harpooned mother is quickly surrounded by a pool of crimson rapidly expanding on the sea. Next to her massive blood drenched body, her much smaller suckling calf is now seen to swim up and down, back and forth ... mewling, pleading, crying softly for its Mama just as any human child would surely do the same (The calf's pitiful cries can easily be heard by the viewing audience)!!Now, the camera pulls back in a TALL WIDE ANGLE VIEW to reveal the nearby whaling vessel that fired the lethal shot. Nothing in all the vastness of Creation is as powerful as the bond of Love that binds a mother eternally to her child. It is this same maternal bond that Whale Lives Matter Too! utilizes with such tragedy and pathos to depict the bloody horrors of a whale Mother murdered, and her loving child left to starve as an orphan far out on the sea!

Somewhere far out on the oceans, a Mother Whale is being killed by a harpoon tipped with a high-explosive charge … her death is often slow, extremely painful, ‘til finally life leaves her great body and she lolls back and forth in a bright tide of crimson spreading out on the sea.Her much smaller suckling calf has no understanding of what’s happened to Mom … the calf continues to nurse innocently at her teats, until a seepage of cold seawater mixing with blood chills the Mother’s warm nurturing milk … then comes the tragic realization that all Love is lost … that Mom has gone to a faraway place where her loving whale child can no longer follow .….The Mother’s lifeless body is hoisted up and onto the whaling vessel where the job of butchering begins. The ship soon sails on away into the gathering dusk … the calf left behind, lingers, abandoned, then finally with the fading of light, swims off toward the far horizon … the little orphan will die a lonely death of starvation somewhere far out on the vast empty sea …….
